Wandering around in the dark

I'm trying an experiment. I'm typing these ideas directly into HTML because somehow this feels ... better. There's zero tech between my fingers and what shows up in the browser. I write, preview and post and that's it. Sure, I have to remember to add CSS to a page or manually encode links. But that's the beauty of it! I really get to feel my words, the structure, the sense of a place. Like wandering through trails of a familar forest behind your home, you intuitively know where you're going, where the stream and trees live, what animals and birds inhabit the space.

It does feel like I'm wandering around in the dark. There is literally nothing here until I type this in. Let there be light or such. I feel like it's dark and I've got a torch and am poking into the shadows, flames flickering and lighting the lower branches of trees above. I feel safe, curious, unsure, and bold all at the same time.

I can't remember the last time I've felt this way.
